The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently awarded Diversified Technical Systems (DTS) with a contract to integrate SLICE6, its newest in-dummy DAS, into THOR-50M ATD. THOR will be the first automotive ATD integrated with SLICE6, with plans for WorldSID, Hybrid III and the Q-Series to follow. DTS developed SLICE6 for the US Army Warrior Injury Assessment Manikin blast dummy, which supports more than 150 channels of SLICE6 and the new plug-in sensor solution. At half the size of SLICE NANO – the company’s current in-dummy DAS – SLICE6 reduces in-dummy cabling and connectors by up to 75%. High-speed gigabit IEEE 1588 Ethernet allows PTPv2 daisy-chaining of hundreds of channels per test setup. Data writes directly to flash memory for store-in-place reliability and SLICE6 is compatible with previous generation DTS SLICE and TDAS equipment.
